Square Peg Associates is currently recruiting for a commercially driven Purchasing professionalto work with a successful manufacturing firm based in Bury.
The business is experiencing significant success in their market and on the back of this growth; requirea Purchasing Officer to help expand their operation.
Description
The role will oversee the following responsibilities:
- Working alongside the busy sales force to swiftly deliver procurement services
- Management of daily stock items and reports on the system and keeping track of lead times and orders placed and received
- Placing orders and building strong working relations with your suppliers
- Gaining business sign off and allocating Purchase Order Numbers for all purchases
- Undertaking due diligence so that 'preferred' suppliers are meeting their service levels
- Vast liaison and communication across both internal and external suppliers and key partners
- The ability to multi task in a fast paced environment with a flexible approach to changing work priorities at short notice
- A highly selfmotivated person, with the ability to working alone as well as being a strong team player
- Vast amounts of juggling, managing your time and communication with people at all levels
Person/Skills
- Proven knowledge and handson experience of Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain or Buying
- The ability to quickly understand detailed supply requirements
- Strong commercial acumen
- Educated to degree level or equivalent hands on experience
- Effective communication skills and a people person in order to build fruitful working relationships
- A keen eye for detail, effective time management, problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
- Solid IT skills, use of MS Office and advanced knowledge of Excel would be advantageous
