Your role and responsibilities

Ensuring preparation of technical specifications that are in line with project specifications, preparing or approving of engineering deliverables like Architecture, GA, FDS, DDS to application programming etc., and performing technical review before submission to ensure that the deliverables are as per the customer technical specification.
Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments in projects. Handling FAT, installation, and commissioning activities.
Preparing, studying, and analyzing existing legacy system and lead revamp/retrofit solutions.
Assisting in preparing proposals (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.) for Sales team.
Identifying customer (internal or external) requirements, questioning, and documenting as-is process and process interfaces, discover gaps, design to-be integration in collaboration with business resources.
Creating work plans and cost estimations and ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budgeted cost. Completing risk and opportunity assessments and ensures implementation of resulting actions.
Providing technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning activities. Collaborating with business teams to deliver solutions within timeline. Assisting customers on technical issues, interacting with official contacts, contracting and other staffs.
Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications for the role
  • Engineering Qualification B.Eng or M.Eng.
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in process or safety systems, predominantly in application engineering, HMI engineering, 3rd party communication interfaces, FAT and SAT for process automation in any of the domains like oil & gas or refineries or petrochemicals.
  • Good knowledge on process or ICSS and safety systems (fire & gas protection systems or emergency shutdown systems).
  • Experience in any ABB systems like 800xA, Symphony plus, SG400, AC400, AC800M, Infi90, AC500 etc,. will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of functional safety standards and project practices.
  • Industrial Protocols- Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet and IEC61850.
  • Industry Knowledge - Networking, Cyber Security, IOT, Industry 4.0, SCADA, PLC.
  • Software Experience – Network Management, VMWare ESXi.
  • Flexibility to travel within the UK and overseas. (Up to 30% of time).
