Plant Maintenance Electrician

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

As pioneers in innovation, we seek a driven, forward-looking, receptive, and versatile individual to join our local Engineering team. Working full-time on a 12-hour shift schedule at our Dumfries facility, we are in search of a competent, suitably qualified, and experienced team player who can make individual decisions while collaborating with the team to meet the continuous operational needs within the facility.

Key duties:

Executing all tasks following Company and Legislative Safety, Compliance, and Environmental protocols.
  • Proficient communication across all levels within the organization.
  • Responsible for electrical maintenance (reactive, planned, and enhancements) of plant equipment and process machinery, including PLCs and Electrical Drive Systems.
  • Contributing to the training of apprentices, acting as a mentor, and establishing best practices.
  • Conducting installation work (3 phase, single phase, and containment), including network cabling.
  • Supporting facility Project/ Task-based activities as outlined to aid in ongoing site investment.
ABOUT YOU

Key Requirements:
  • Educated to City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 in Electrical studies and a certified electrician.
  • Mandatory certification in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within an Industrial Environment post qualification.
  • Familiarity with ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam service systems.
Preferred Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault detection, and repair.
  • Prior exposure to Industrial Robotics.
  • Detailed understanding of plant equipment safety and interlocking operations.
  • Proven ability to adhere to documented processes and procedures.
Essential Skills:
  • Demonstrated proactive and responsive approach to equipment maintenance and lifecycle management.
  • Determination, ambition, and eagerness to acquire new knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Control and Electrical Drive systems.
  • Systematic troubleshooting and problems solving skills, focusing on preventive measures.
  • Ability to interpret and update Electrical Schematics and control documentation.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, preferably Siemens or Beckhoff, though training can be provided.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications like Word, Excel, and Teams.
