About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer to join our Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The purpose of the role is to lead the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship team working with a partner employer Spire Healthcare and ensure high quality teaching and learning for the apprentices enrolled on the programme. To teach clinical and theoretical nursing skills in a range of settings and to facilitate the integration of students' clinical practice with their academic studies. To enhance the reputation of the Sunderland School of Nursing as a centre of excellence by engaging with teaching, reach-out and research programmes in nursing and health related topics.

The role will also require the post holder to support other nursing programmes including pre-registration nursing and CPD provision and to enhance the reputation of the Sunderland School of Nursing as a centre of excellence by engaging with teaching, reach-out and research programmes in nursing and health related topics.

What you can bring

We are looking for individuals with a current NMC Registration as an Adult Nurse and a 1st degree or equivalent experience. You will have experience of current trends in teaching and learning in nursing and relevant experience of mentorship.

For a Senior Lecturer we would be looking for individuals with a Postgraduate Qualification in education and experience of current trends in teaching and learning in the area of advanced clinical skills with significant relevant experience of working with students.
