Harwell with the opportunity for flexible home working 1-2 days a week.

To lead the delivery of electronics projects at OPD and strategically develop OPD's firmware and hardware design and development offerings to our clients.

We're looking for an experienced embedded software engineer who is confident in delivering technically complex projects and managing firmware and hardware development from concept to production.

Manage the delivery of all electronics and embedded software components
Develop proposals that accurately reflect the scope and requirements of hardware projects, including timelines, deliverables and budgets
Lead the technical direction of hardware developments on a wide range of projects
Manage subcontractor resources and relationships required for specialist development tasks
Proven track record of successfully managing hardware projects to completion
~ Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering
~ A background in product design and/or engineering, ideally including the development of diagnostic medical devices

The collaborative nature of this role means that you will be expected to be in the office at minimum three days a week, but there is the opportunity to work flexibly from home as and when this fits with project delivery requirements.

You'll play a key part in our continued growth and work with great people in a supportive and flexible working environment.

We offer a competitive salary, pension, health insurance and bonus scheme.

You'll get 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and paid leave on your birthday, wedding day, or if you're buying a house or taking your child for their first day at school.

You can purchase another 5 days of holiday a year, spread across 12 months, or sell back holiday at any point.

After 3 years of working at OPD you can apply for an unpaid sabbatical of up to 3 months, increasing to 6 months after 6 years.

You'll be allocated ten days of training per year, with a training budget of up to 5% of your annual salary.

We're a member of the cycle to work scheme which allows you to purchase a bike and related accessories tax free, we offer season ticket loans and have an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.

And if you're in the office on a Thursday, we'll buy lunch for you
