The voice of our landscapes, conservation champions and lovers of all things outdoors, you'll help to maintain the grounds and surrounding areas to make sure they are beautifully presented at Tattershall Castle.
Come rain or shine, your love of the outdoors will inspire your team of volunteers, as you strive to ensure that the landscape continues to take our visitors' breath away.
In this role, you'll work some weekends, bank holiday and evenings. What it's like to work here:This vacancy is included in a trial of the 'Disability Confident' scheme (level 1).
Tattershall Castle is a compact site, with a small, friendly site team of staff and volunteers that are passionate about all things Medieval and who strive to conserve the site for future generations.
Everyone here has their part to play in creating a culture of inclusivity and welcoming everyone that visits, works or volunteers at Tattershall.
Rising proudly from the flat Lincolnshire fens, Tattershall Castle, built by Lord Ralph Cromwell, Treasurer of England with its huge Gothic fireplaces and church-like windows, was designed to show off his wealth, position and power.
The landscape surrounding the buildings, is underpinned by archaeology and a life of history, which we would like to bring to life through creative planting and landscaping.
What you'll be doing:
With your endless enthusiasm for our work, you'll support with the protection and care of habitats, wildlife, property and machinery, and your passion will inspire others to love this beautiful place as much as you do.
We want you to engage with visitors, making time to talk to them, not rushing away to the next task.
As an easily identifiable member of the Ranger team, on your best day you will be creating great memories for everyone with the support of your volunteer team.
You'll make sure that, at every twist and turn of these landscapes, we're delivering outstanding outdoors experiences and excellent conservation work.
So whether you're maintaining our green spaces, to assisting with guided visitor walks, through to delivering a wide range of engaging visitor experiences, no two days will be the same.
You'll also share and promote the work that we do here, ensuring special places like these are here to be both protected and enjoyed by everyone for ever.
