We are one of the major suppliers of fresh and pre-packed vegetables to the UKs best known supermarket chains.
Our Hygiene Dayshift Team at Orkie are looking for
Hygiene Controllers. Our Controllers have small crews of operatives to assign daily tasks to, and support the Team Leader.

Our hygiene requirements are a mix of
industrial hygiene with some facilities and office cleaning.

Our
Controllers have small teams of operatives who carry out a variety of cleaning duties to industry standards in our factory, facilities & offices.

It is a mix of industrial cleaning (including on occasion, allergen cleaning), with sampling/Ph testing/disinfection tunnel testing. Welly boots are supplied

  • Experience in working in industrial hygiene, or a closely relatable role
  • Supervisory experience of delegating to and supporting a small team in their duties
  • Ability to challenge and praise equally, with consistency in your approach
  • H&S experience is desirable but not essential
  • Physical abilities suited to the role/reasonable fitness levels
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Good understanding of verbal and written English

What does the job involve?

  • Assign duties to your team
  • Supervise the correct use of hygiene equipment
  • Check correct procedures and PPE are being used by team members
  • Assisting with the training of new team members
  • Support the Team Leader and take on jobs assigned by him/her in a timely and positive manner
  • Stand in for the Team Leader when required
  • Take responsibility for the hygiene levels around the site when on shift
  • Be a positive influence on your team members
  • Taking on hygiene duties alongside your team, using various hygiene machinery, tools and chemicals

Sunday to Thursday (40hrs)
Sun 06:15-16:25

Hygiene Controllers who are keen to build their experience and make a difference to the team they supervise.

There are progression opportunities, to Team Leader or within other areas, but first and foremost this is a role we want someone to come in and make their own.

Essentials to Consider
Non-UK Residents will be asked to supply their Home Office Share Code prior to attending any recruitment event.

We are a 364 days a year company, closed only on Christmas Day. We work bank holidays including Boxing Day.

We are unable at the present time to offer shifts suitable for students with any restricted working hours during term time (usually 20 hours).
