The Company

Psychiatry-UK LLP is the leading provider of online mental health services in the United Kingdom, made up of a large chamber of consultant psychiatrists, nurse prescribers and non-clinical support services, assessing and treating 2000+ patients each month within the NHS and private sector across all age groups.

Job Summary


We are seeking highly motivated and committed individuals with a positive mental attitude, who can meet tight deadlines and who are comfortable working in a fast paced, demanding environment requiring skills of autonomy and initiative.

Your primary duty will be audio typing or formatting roughly drafted letters into top quality medical correspondence and ensuring letters reach their destination within strict timescales.


You will join our busy, virtual support team and be available to work 30+ hours a week over flexible hours from your secure home office environment using our bespoke patient database.


Responsibilities and Duties
The post holder's main duties will be as follows:

  • Audio typing of clinic letters from dictation to an agreed standard
  • Formatting of clinic letters and other medical documentation to an agreed standard
This above list is not exhaustive, and administrative staff could be asked to perform a wider variety of duties to ensure resilience across the team, including:

  • Arranging and scheduling appointments within the PUK Patient Portal
  • Providing cover for colleagues in other departments when and where necessary, including front of house duties and telephone answering
  • Planning own workload to ensure that weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks are met
  • Actively participate in regular supervision with the line manager
  • Participate in audits, performance monitoring and meeting objectives
  • Completing mandatory training

Person Specification

  • Essential Qualifications and Skills: _
  • GSCE grade C in English and Maths
  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy min 60 WPM
  • Experience working in a psychiatric and/or private hospital setting
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Friendly, approachable, and supportive
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Desirable Qualifications and Skills_
  • A-Levels grade C in English and Maths
  • At least 1 year in a Medical Secretary role is preferable
  • Qualification as a Medical Transcriber or Secretary

Other Information
The role is home-based but you may be required to attend various meeting locations occasionally.

  • This is a temporary employed position on a fixedterm basis for six months. The possibility of the contract being renewed will be based on the needs of the business at the time as well as the post holder's performance and attendance._
