The National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) is a major resource for the UK's food manufacturing sector, delivering skills, research, and support for innovation.

NCFM's students are employed in the food industry and study on a part-time basis, with distance learning supported by block release the platform for delivery.

A leading provider of higher-level apprenticeships, the NCFM supports nearly 400 apprentices in over 100 businesses.

The NCFM is leading the development of a higher-level skills offer for the seafood processing sector to support Grimsby's Seafood Cluster and the sector in the UK and is establishing a research team in Grimsby to support the sector's research needs.

The NCFM is a satellite campus of the University of Lincoln.

The NCFM is part of the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (IoT) and has outstanding sector-focused facilities, including a state-of-the-art food factory demonstrating cutting edge food automation, a food innovation centre and Digital Food Manufacturing Technologies Centre located on the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone.

The NCFM's Grimsby office is the base for a small but growing team focussed on serving the Seafood Sector.

With provision integrated, the post holder will be a core member of NCFM's team and will be required to physically visit Holbeach to meet with colleagues on occasions, with routine business conducted on Microsoft Teams.


The post holder will work as part of NCFM's administrative team to provide administrative support for the campus's academic provision, research and business partnerships.

They will follow standard University guidelines and procedures but are also expected to work on their own initiative and prioritise their workload to meet tight internal deadlines, using judgement to deal with queries and problems to uphold an exemplary corporate customer experience for students and employers.


The post offers some flexibility for post holders to work at home for a proportion of the week as business needs allow but flexibility is essential.
