Role: Methods Engineer

About the Job:
Join us at our Birkenhead site where we focus on maintenance and operation optimization, providing custom solutions for spare parts and repair activities on existing trains including brake discs, brake pads, brake blocks, and self-contained dynamic brake systems. Make sure you grasp all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this position.

Salary: Competitive

Location: Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:00 and Friday 07:30 to 12:30, 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Serve as a key link between Operations and the Engineering team.
  • Support Operations in providing cost-effective manufacturing systems.
  • Optimize assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Design and install tools, fixtures, test rigs, and jigs.
  • Review new technologies and develop business cases for improvements.
  • Lead improvement projects and give presentations.
  • Analyze and recommend corrective solutions for production problems.
  • Ensure equipment meets specifications and functions as required.
What We Want from You:
  • HNC/Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Production/Methods Engineering experience.
  • Experience in a Lean environment.
  • MRP experience and knowledge of problem-solving tools.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Presentation skills.
