Gloucester, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time
We are looking for motivated, passionate individual to help lead CYP participation and digital development with us. Specialist Inclusion Lead is an integral part of our friendly and innovative Partnership team.

This role will have a specific strategic focus; ensuring that children and young people will be involved at all levels of our healthcare system, from shaping care they might receive in hospital or in their local community all the way through to inputting into planning and strategic change.

Specialist Inclusion Lead - Children and Young People/ Digital role is essential to ensure mental health promotion and prevention are at the core of our support offer for children and young people (CYPS) within Gloucestershire.

The post-holder will provide children and young people within Gloucestershire the ability to make positive changes for themselves, their peers and any potential future children and young people accessing mental health support and wider CYPS services.

The post holder will be line managed by the Service Development manager (countywide).

The role will also enable children and young people's voices to be heard through a participatory model, facilitating forums, to feel listened to and empowered, opening the channels of communication between young people and professionals.

Be responsible for the development and implementation of a participation strategy across CYPS and embed service user involvement and participation throughout the service, in line with national initiatives.

  • Will work in collaboration with managers, clinical leads, commissioners and most importantly, children and young people to identify projects and work streams where participation is a key factor in service development.
  • Build strong working relationships with services working with children and young people with mental health and emotional wellbeing needs, including those with youth groups or boards.
  • Identify and recruit a diverse and sustainable group of children and young people to be involved through a creative, varied and flexible range of media and face to face contact. The postholder will involve people in ways that are appropriate to their needs and preferences, and provide them with the necessary information, resources and support to enable them to participate.
  • Manage and oversee, in conjunction with the Trust's Communications Team, the development of a digital, countywide platform of selfhelp, support and guidance for children and young people, parents and professionals ensuring it is fit for purpose and meets the needs of children and young people, parents and carers, and professionals.

At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it.

This is the same approach we take for our employees.

We look to value the skills and experiences of those we work with, whether they are service users, carers, families or those looking to work with us.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. We treat NHS patients according to NHS principles and standards.

The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

Our Staff Survey results showed people at our Trust feel they are engaged, part of a team and work for a compassionate and inclusive organisation.

Our overall scores were better than average in eight of nine themes and level in one - the best overall results for a community, mental health and learning disabilities Trust in the south west and first equal amongst all sector NHS providers within the region too.

Gloucestershire Health and Care is committed to embedding and providing personalised care through all of its services as part of our high-quality care strategy.

The purpose of personalised care is to empower people to lead the lives they want to live. Personalised care starts with a conversation with people about what matters to them. It builds on what people can do, as well as addressing their health needs.

Including new ways of working and delivering care, emphasising that we need to make effective use of the full range of our people's skills and experience to deliver the best possible patient care.

So we want to know What Matters to You and that you will share our values and join us on this very important journey.

The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
