Job Title: Specialist Clinical Pharmacist Antimicrobial and Clinical

Main Duties of the Job

  • Work closely with the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide antimicrobial stewardship across the Trust, including participation in ward rounds and guideline development
  • Motivate and inspire colleagues to ensure responsible use of antimicrobials

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Services

  • Provide guidance on medicine use and ensure safety standards
  • Optimize medicines management and report adverse reactions
  • Support new antimicrobial introductions and guideline development

Education, Training, and Supervision

  • Lead training sessions for pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals
  • Take part in pre-registration training and staff development
  • Maintain clinical knowledge and seek continuous professional development

Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties as needed within the service
  • Participate in on-call duties and weekend pharmacy service

Education, Training, and Qualifications

Essential

  • MPharm degree and GPhC membership
  • Clinical Diploma or working towards it
  • CPD portfolio

Desirable

  • RPS membership and Independent Prescribing Certificate
  • Specialist body membership

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
