About the Opportunity

Role Overview:

  • Seeking a skilled Head of Internal Audit, Malta (Internal Audit Director) to join our global Internal Audit team.
  • Lead audit activities within the EU/EEA region, overseeing risk assessment, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the global Head of Internal Audit to ensure a robust foundation for OKX Europe.
  • Ideal candidate should have extensive internal auditing experience in digital assets or fintech, with a strong understanding of blockchain technology.
  • Position based in Malta.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement risk-based internal audit plans.
  • Execute an audit strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Conduct assessments and walkthroughs with IT stakeholders to evaluate controls and risks.
  • Review processes, test controls, and prepare detailed audit reports.
  • Monitor audit issues, follow-up on recommendations, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes in cryptocurrency and blockchain.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, provide guidance on audit matters, and support business units.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field; professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of internal audit experience with managerial responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency operations, blockchain technology, and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience in leading audit engagements, managing teams, and delivering quality reports.
  • Proficiency in audit tools and data analysis; familiarity with regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to work globally and uphold high ethical standards.
