About the Team and the Role:

Warwickshire Library and Information Service is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced information professional with a strong customer focus to be the specialist lead for the delivery and continued development of our information and enquiry service. Applicants will need to evidence excellent customer service skills.

You will be responsible for the co-ordinated enquiry service across the library network, and will be required to develop specialist training packages and provide training and support for Area staff to ensure quality and consistency of delivery.

You will work with members of the virtual library team to deliver, monitor and evaluate our online information offer, and maintain awareness of information trends to inform consistent policies and strategies for future service developments. You will also work with colleagues across the council in support of corporate priorities.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

Degree, post-graduate diploma or equivalent level qualification in Library and Information Science or hold a degree and be working towards a relevant qualification2 years' experience of delivering a public information serviceExperience of communicating clearly & effectively in person, in writing and on the telephoneExperience of answering enquiries using a range of reference sources/formats including onlineExperience of working effectively under pressure, organising workloads and meeting deadlines both within a team and under own initiativeAbility to make effective decisions and participate in service planning and project management Experience of working effectively with people internally/externally and at different levels.Ability to travel effectively around the County as required.Ability to work flexibly.
