Duties:

  • Working in Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Team working with clients 0-19 years with primarily neurodisability, developmental delay, torticollis and Brachial Plexus Lesions
  • Be responsible for ensuring a high standard, cost-effective physiotherapy service is delivered to children and young people (CYP) in the Cambridgeshire area, working in clinic settings, mainstream/specialist schools and the home environment
  • Provide specialised paediatric physiotherapy assessment and treatment for CYP in our specified geographical area
  • Work and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams
  • Supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students, working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set down by the degree level qualification
  • Appropriately delegate work/tasks to therapy assistants, maintaining oversight of their input with children and young people
  • Work in a variety of settings such as clinics, mainstream schools/nurseries, special schools/nurseries, client's homes and other community settings
  • Where appropriate, to act as a key worker for CYP on their caseload, ensuring that there is effective communication between all members of the team and that a coordinated approach is in place

Requirements of the Paediatrics Physiotherapist:

  • Qualified physiotherapist, i.e., Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
  • Recent UK experience within specialised physiotherapy
  • Registered with the HCPC as a physiotherapist to work in the UK
  • NHS experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Car driver
