We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the team in the role of Financial Reporting Risk Oversight Manager HBUK.
In this role, you will:
- Be a core team member providing effective risk stewardship of the bank's accounting, regulatory and broader financial control framework
- Offer expert analysis and advice on technical and operational aspects of the framework to the Risk Steward and partners
- Act as a lead technical SME ensuring that the implementation of the Second Line of Defence activities and operational risk requirements by HBUK meets underlying business requirements
- Be responsible for the provision of ongoing technical advisory support to the wider HSBC Finance and business partners, ensuring operational consistency with policy and precedent set at an HBUK and Group level
- Provide SME support and oversight to the implementation of significant structure or business changes. Such as significant new product approvals and new Finance Target Operating Models
- Provide technical input into accounting and regulatory change projects and participate in working groups from a Second Line of Defence perspective, where appropriate
- Prepare papers and analysis supporting those Second Line of Defence activities and reviews, which may include drafting Non-Financial Risk Forum papers, Risk Management Meeting papers and other Second Line of Defence deliverables/ papers
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience within risk and controls in banking
- Work knowledge of the operational risk management framework
- Consistent track record of managing and collaborating closely with senior partners
- Broad understanding of all accounting and finance is advantageous
- Experience of maintaining high internal control standards
- Strong communication and prioritisation skills
- Have the ability to work under time pressure
The base location for this role is Birmingham.
