Levenseat, a leading recycling and resource management company, are gearing up to open the doors of their newly refurbished site in Falkirk.

The site will process tonnes of household waste per year, recovering resources to extend their lifecycleand returning them back into a circular economy ensuring nothing is wasted.


As part of the first phase of recruitment for this facility, we are looking for a number of Mobile Plant Operators.

Operation of tracked and wheeled 360° Material Handlers to support the processing, recovery and management of waste materials.

The Mobile Plant Operator will have experience in the operation, and daily maintenance of the machines and, hold a current plantoperator's licence and be qualified to NVQ level (SPMO) - alternative demonstration of competence will be considered.

Training will be given on specific & specialised plant.

Main Duties include:

  • Ensure the recycling plant loading operations are managed in line with Levenseat standards and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure all mobile plant basic maintenance, cleaning & inspections are carried out and recorded as per Company and manufactures instructions and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all company work practices as directed.
  • Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and competently.
  • Assist with the general operation as required.
  • Undertake general housekeeping duties around the site and buildings in accordance with Supervisors instructions
  • Take responsibility for coworkers and own H&S, report all incidents and near misses.
  • Assist in the day to day operations of the plant in accordance with the site licence and contractual conditions.
  • Sort and separate waste types to support plant performance.
  • Safely and competently operate mobile plant.
  • Loading vehicles/Skips with material
  • Maintain the highest cleanliness of all working areas.
  • Ensure any defects affecting the safe working order of a machine are reported immediately.
  • Remain aware, at all times, of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of your work colleagues.
  • Carry out other tasks within your operational ability or for which you have received appropriate training, as and when required.

Hours of work:

Position 1
4 days on/4 days off 12 hour shift pattern
Requires working on bank holidays (except Christmas day and 1st January)
Plus optional overtime for holiday cover

Position 2
Dayshift/backshift

Week 1 dayshift 05:30-14:30

Week 2 backshift 14:00-23:00

Requires working on bank holidays (except Christmas day and 1st January)
Plus optional overtime for holiday cover

Essential Skills:

  • Full driving licence.
- previous experience operating a 360° Grab/Material Handler

  • Previous knowledge of a process environment.
  • An awareness and experience of Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience of continuous process operations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • The ability to operate vehicles and machinery in a safe manner.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of the waste/recycling industry.
  • The ability to identify different types of waste.
  • Experience of continuous process operations.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Appropriate mobile plant licence:
  • NVQ
  • CSCS
  • IOSH managing Safely
