Quickstart Support Worker - Band - Battersea Studios


We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated Support Worker to join our Quickstart service across Wandsworth and Merton boroughs to deliver high quality, timely care support with an enablement focus to patients in the community.

Quickstart service provides rapid response social care services for patients who are at risk of social care breakdown.

Without a social care package in place these patients would otherwise be admitted to hospital due to an overriding social care need.


The role is varied and diverse, and will involve following a personalized care plan, providing support including personal care and domestic tasks, across a wide range of client groups including people with dementia, frailty and complex long term conditions.

This is a full-time 37.5 hours post -hours are worked across 7 days/week including bank holidays and weekends, and across shifts covering , depending on needs of the service.

Staffa are expected to cover a range of shifts across the weekend, bank holidays and operational hours of 07:30 - 22:00.

  • To carry out predefined care plans with patients in their homes, as directed by a senior support worker or qualified therapist for a range of patients promoting an enablement ethos where appropriate, ensuring that patient's safety and care is prioritised at all times.
  • To report back to the allocated senior support worker or therapist, and document effectively care tasks undertaken, progress made, outcomes of intervention and any concerns regarding patients health, wellbeing or ability and to discuss when modification of care plans may be necessary as part of a structured clinical supervision system.
  • To utilise basic health observation techniques to monitor patients health status as appropriate and directed by senior staff, reporting back findings.
  • To ensure all aspects of work are carried out to a high clinical standard and be accountable for this through the senior staff.
  • To maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to patients/families adhering to Trust policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients / families / other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure prescribed plan of care is delivered.
