Role Overview


This is a role for a creative individual who has a passion for storytelling, brand building, and engaging with audiences across several digital platforms.

You will help the whole organisation by providing social media and content support to help our internal teams fulfil their objectives and promote the wider SSC brand.

Activity will include content creation across a range of mediums, social media management, campaign planning and reporting.

Your responsibilities will encompass the development and implementation of compelling social media strategies, as well as SEO-driven content creation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with SSC goals and values.
  • Develop and promote social media and marketing campaigns (alongside the Comms team).
  • Manage content calendars, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of content across various platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our social media presence remains innovative and engaging.
  • Social media and website monitoring, monthly reporting to wider team.
  • Enhancing our online presence aligning with SSC growth plans.
  • Maintaining close relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external organisations and individuals.
  • Contributing to adhoc projects.

Content Creation

  • Designs creation of compelling content for sharing on social.
  • Written content creation of blogs for SEO purposes on the SSC, Engine and Dynamo websites.
  • Help with wider comms team to update and maintain the SSC website, including content for Tech Talent Engine to support employers.
  • Researching and writing blog posts, newsletters and other forms of content as required, copywriting and proofreading to help wider SSC comms team.

Key Skills/Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience managing social media channels
  • Strong content creation skills (written)
  • A strong understanding of social media tools and web analytics
  • Proven ability to network and build new contacts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Commitment to personal continuous professional development

Desirable:

  • Experience or knowledge of working with tech sector
  • Experience of multimedia content creation (e.g. video, podcasts, design)
