As a SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH (supporting students with depression), you'll join our team in Barnet, London, to support students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Starting ASAP, this full-time, long-term role doesn't have an end date. You'll work closely with teachers, providing tailored assistance to help students overcome learning barriers associated with SEMH. Additionally, you'll foster positive relationships with parents, ensuring a collaborative approach to student support. Previous experience working with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, particularly depression, is essential.

  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Experience in delivering tailored interventions and strategies to support students' emotional well-being and academic progress is preferred.
Building strong, trusting relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Providing specialised support to students with SEMH needs, including depression, implementing tailored interventions to promote emotional well-being.
  • Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans for students with depression.

Contribute to school initiatives:
Attend meetings and professional development sessions to share expertise on supporting students with SEMH needs. Stay updated on best practices in special education and mental health support, fostering continuous professional growth.
