Duties:

  • To lead, manage and drive a team, to serve wellpresented food, of an excellent quality.
  • Maintain an efficient working kitchen within set budgets, including planning labour, ingredients, and energy consumption.
  • To ensure the kitchen is profitable and the scheme is a busy, positive place for residents to mix and bring their family and friends.
  • Maintain all food and health and safety legislation/regulations.
  • To ensure that food safety legislation and health and safety legislation is always complied with, and that all food purchased from the kitchen complies with the most up to date allergen legislation (Natasha's law).
  • Maintaining and updating recipe and compliance documentation.
  • Responsible for stock rotation and stock control including checking use by dates and ordering of food stocks, considering food costs and income.
  • Responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and restaurant that exceeds regulatory requirements. Responsible for ensuring your scheme retains a 5star EHO rating.
  • Ensuring that pre orders are in place and meals are prepared accordingly.
  • Responsible for event management at your scheme, i.e., coffee mornings, BBQ's, afternoon teas, etc.
  • Take responsible for the food expenditure within your scheme, including ordering stock, considering costings of menus, to ensure the agreed food profit margins are maintained.
  • Reporting to Senior Management on ingredients and menu costings.
  • Monitor and adjust food cost percentages.
  • Liaise regularly with the Kitchen Manager at other schemes, review menus, and pricing structures.
  • Provide cover across other schemes when needed.
  • Manage supplier relationships and purchasing for externally sourced ingredients.
  • Handling and resolving complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Produce a seven day a week rota and cover or find cover for team absence or holidays to ensure continuity of service delivery.
  • Managing team members, including annual appraisals, regular one to ones and team meetings
  • Maintain safe working conditions in your scheme and ensure all team members are inducted, trained, and are working according to the safe systems at work.
  • Undertake other duties/hours of work as reasonable required and are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

Benefits:

This is a Part - Time role - 21 hours per week, with flexible hours to suit.


Predominantly Monday - Friday however must be prepared to work additional hours at weekend to cover staff holidays, illness etc.

Hourly rate £14.18ph
