Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of Data Quality Co-ordinator, working across the Specialised Medicine, and Rehabilitation Care Group.

The successful post holder will be responsible for all areas of Data Quality, contributing to maintaining data quality by generating data reports, in line with Trust reporting requirements, to identify any trends/problems and agree with relevant managers action plans to validate all required reports within set reporting timescales.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support team leaders and members of the management team by undertaking data validation checks and corrections where necessary, but where appropriate they will empower admin teams to validate their own error reports and to give knowledge of the appropriate fixes to correct the errors going forward.

The post holder will also take an important role in training staff across the care group to ensure that activity is accurately recorded, and errors are minimised. This will be achieved through:

Identifying and documenting key data quality errors affecting each of the sub-directorates - Ensuring that any data entry errors are escalated as appropriate.Providing intense support to areas where errors occur and resolving any data quality issues. - Contributing to the development of local training documentation , induction packs

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder would be responsible for all areas of Data Quality including:

Data Error Reports: Actively monitor data error reports across designated services ensuring that corrections are made in a timely manner in line with end of month targets and as required depending on priority. To support Supervisors in training/developing staff to prevent data errors from occurring.

RTT 18 Week Validation: Ensuring the validation of RTT 18-week data is carried out before the trusts reporting deadline. Support training in all areas so that patient activity is correctly recorded and the need to validate is minimised.

Breach Reports: Pro-actively monitor referral reports to ensure that all patients that are referred to the service are appointed in a timely manner. Investigate and advise supervisors on any delays in appointing patients.

Service Developments: Developments within the service can often result in changes to recording practices. The post holder will support supervisors and operational managers in understanding the impact of service developments on recording practices. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring recording changes are accurately maintained , recording ambulatory patients.

Contractual Reporting: The post holder must ensure that each speciality records all activity on Lorenzo in accordance with monthly and quarterly contracting freeze dates.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Undertake audits, reports, and information analysis on a regular and ad hoc basis as required.

2. Act as point of reference for problems with data and be able to spot obscure errors within this.

3. To always maintain confidentiality relating to staff, patients, and the Trust.

4. To liaise with other departments in the trust to ensure patient data is complete throughout the patient journey.

5. To participate in mandatory training for fire procedures, moving and handling, Personal Performance Reviews (PDR).

6. To be responsive to day-to-day queries, ensure appropriate progress chasing and resolution and to undertake other general office duties including dealing with e-mail; voice mail; management of post; telephone calls; photocopying.

Qualifications

GCSE English and mathematics Grade A-C or equivalent IT qualification NVQ 3 or equivalent demonstrable experience

Experience of handling and interpreting reports and analysing data Experience of dealing with and validating patient pathways and a knowledge RTT18 week targets Demonstrable experience of using and acting on the trusts data error reports and using these to improve data quality. Experience of using trusts computer systems, in particular Lorenzo and eRS Relevant Previous NHS experience Experience of training staff

Desirable

Experience of all aspects of Microsoft Office applications including Ms Excel and MS Access Demonstratable experience using information services, generating reports, and validating these Knowledge of cancer waits
