  • NIPT Field Applications Scientist
  • UK (Field Based/Remote) 12 month contract
  • By joining Illumina as NIPT Field Applications Scientist, you will be proactively monitoring the performance of the NIPT workflow at customer sites to facilitate optimal assay performance and proactive troubleshooting. You will be providing customers with endtoend performance metric monitoring for their Clinical workflow by continuously monitoring, analysing, and summarizing QC data as part of the NIPT sustaining service.
  • This is a field based role which requires travel up to 50%, Europe wide. It is essential for the role that you have a valid UK driving license.
  • Please note that this is a 12month fix term contract position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure proactive account maintenance, monitoring of NIPT QC metrics and sample failure rate, initiating troubleshooting cases where appropriate and providing customers with sustaining metrics reports.
  • Work in collaboration with our Illumina software team or thirdparty company to ensure continuous development and evolution of the NIPT sustaining tool.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to provide management and colleagues easy access to summary level account/assay performance.
  • Ensure proactive account management providing data for customer business reviews (quarterly reviews, test performance over time, SLA compliance...)
  • Ensure proactive account management providing data and analysis for regular internal business review (postmarket surveillance, IVD test performance, service performance, proactive service)
  • Support both key account and strategic sales efforts through technical presentations and demonstrations.
  • Provides strategic and competitive feedback to marketing and product support development teams and independently lead or manage beta tests at customer sites.
  • Develop and improve key company processes that support our mission of building a worldclass customer support organization


Requirements
  • Willing to travel, Europe wide up to 50%
  • Previous commercial biotech or biomedical experience
  • Significant prior experience in an inhouse or field support role
  • Experience training in laboratory environment
  • Comprehensive handson experience with microarray and sequencing technologies
  • Clinical or regulatory background (especially in reproductive and genetic health or NIPT)
  • Highly motivated with superior problemsolving ability
  • Experience at leading internal projects and matrix managing core teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally within a global organization and matrix reporting structure
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
