The role In Room Dining Order Taker is vital to ensuring our guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay with us.

You are responsible for taking orders from guests for meals and drinks that will be delivered to their rooms. Tailoring the dining experience to meet individual guest preferences, creating a personalized and memorable service.


You must possess excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and have a comprehensive understanding of the in-room dining menu, including dish descriptions, ingredients, and presentation details.

You will need to drive sale and revenue targets via upselling where possible, providing recommendations based on the guests' preferences and dietary requirements including allergens and religious choices.

It is important that you are able to work well under pressure, as you will often receive multiple orders at once.

Coordinating with the kitchen department to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders including relaying special instructions or requests from guests are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.


In addition to taking orders, you may also be responsible for setting up and delivering the orders to the guest's room.

You must do so with care and attention to detail, ensuring that the order is complete and presented according to the hotel's standards.

  • Passionate about delivering great service and great food and drinks in line with Forbes Standard
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communicators with an eye for detail
  • Experienced with Interacting with guests to receive feedback on their dining experience and addressing any concerns or issues promptly
  • Experienced utilizing technology and ordering platforms (Micros) efficiently to streamline the ordertaking process is vital
  • Willing to learn new things and work as part of a wide hotel team

    £13.50 per hour) plus paid overtime, service charge and great IHG perks
