In this role, you will lead, motivate, and coach the operational senior management team to uphold company values and vision, policies and procedures, and all contractual standards and Key Performance Indicators.

You will work with staff across the Centre to foster a culture where people are respected, valued, treated with dignity, and recognised, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.

A commitment to continuous improvement and excellent service delivery is essential, with audit and compliance activities firmly embedded within each functional area.

Managing the financial and commercial aspects of the Centre's operational areas, you will develop and agree on budgets and expenditures to meet financial parameters and company targets.

During periods of absence, you will deputise for the Centre Manager and participate in Mitie initiatives such as succession planning, the talent pipeline, and contributing to business development opportunities within Care and Custody.

The role includes forming part of a senior on-call roster alongside the Centre Manager and other senior leads, and undertaking Duty Director duties as required, which may include weekends.

Candidates must have substantial experience at a senior managerial level within a custodial environment and a commitment to ensuring a safe, decent, and secure environment for all.

Experience of incident management and resolution, including training at Silver Commander level, is crucial.

A demonstrable commitment to Mitie Values and expected behaviours is required, along with commercial acumen including budget management and driving financial efficiencies.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of line management and supporting/coaching managerial staff to achieve effective results.

The ability to perform well under pressure and balance competing priorities is essential, as is the ability to think creatively and apply innovation to service delivery.

Experience of establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships at a senior level is also necessary.

Experience of working within the immigration sector and a working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of third-party expectations, including HMIP, and how these apply to the immigration estate, is advantageous.
