This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help us shape the future of our City Centre for the future.
At the heart of Colchester our City Centre is vital to our Place socially and economically. It's been that way for 2,000 years and remains somewhere to live, learn, shop, eat, visit, work and play. City centres have adapted over time, Colchester is no exception. Those that thrive recognise the modern challenges and plan for them.
Working with partners including Essex County Council and key stakeholders and following an initial public consultation a City Centre Masterplan has been developed and together with major regeneration already underway sets out the vision and ambition, ensuring one of the most important historic centres in Britain thrives long into the future.
We are looking for someone to help us coordinate our many programmes of work in the City Centre, maximising their benefits and unblocking obstacles, and with keeping key stakeholder groups involved.

In this exciting role you would have the opportunity to use your management skills to co-ordinate our programmes of work to improve the City Centre, to develop new projects, and to help keep partners engaged.
These programme may include our established work funded by our £19m Towns' Fund award, new work funded by our successful £20m Levelling Up Fund award, and future projects arising from our City Centre Masterplan.
You will work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure they are able to influence the development of these projects.
- Lead the development and coordination of complex programmes of work to realise our ambitions for the City Centre.
- Ensure these programmes deliver results by marshalling the activities of individual project managers to coordinate their efforts and help remove obstacles.
- Work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure they can have meaningful input into the development of our work.
- Present reports and updates about these programmes to keep partners informed and to help us govern our work.
- Experienced in managing complex development or regeneration projects.
- Able to juggle different streams of work.
- Able to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals.
- An excellent communicator who is able to build relationships.
