We have exciting opportunities to join our team of Meter Readers where you'll be delivering unrivalled customer experience, helping us to achieve our business vision of being National Leader within the Water Industry.

As a Meter Reader you will:

• undertake timely and accurate meter reads across our region

- provide excellent customer service including answering questions about water consumption
- use our systems to complete daily tasks and to communicate with colleagues
- be provided with a company vehicle for business use (you take your vehicle home each day)
- be provided with a uniform and full PPE
- be responsible for ensuring safety standards are consistently delivered

_ Please note, this role comes with a "type of van" and fuel card for business use only. This van will be kept at your home location when not in use._

• This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you'll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test. _
• Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date._
• Prospective employees and agency workers who fail a preemployment urine drug screen will have their sample analysed by the Company appointed laboratory as a matter of course. Failing a preemployment drugs or alcohol test may lead to the job offer being revoked_

About you

Our Meter Readers are the face of Northumbrian Water so we are looking for you to bring the ability to engage and communicate with people, along with a passion and enthusiasm to make a difference to our customers.

We're looking for you to be inclusive, respectful and considerate as well as being self-motivated and results driven, keen to deliver against challenging targets.

Along with the ability to plan your day to maximise productivity, you will have a good knowledge of the Essex region.

You'll enjoy working on your own and in the outdoors in all weathers. You will need to be physically fit as our meter readers can walk up to 8 miles per day.

You will also be able to bend, twist, kneel and crouch as you will lift many meter covers each day.

We need people who are happy to work flexibly between 7am and 8pm Monday to Sunday and as a company van is provided, you must have a full and valid manual driving licence.
