They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in and around Inverness.

Job Description:


As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the commercial and financial elements of construction projects.

Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. You will work closely with the project management team, clients, and subcontractors to achieve successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Contract Duties:
Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs.
Preparing, negotiating, and analysing costs for tenders and contracts.
Assisting in the procurement process, including the preparation and review of subcontractor and supplier packages.
Preparing bills of quantities and other documentation.

Post-Contract Duties:


Managing costs on a wide variety of new building projects and structures, such as residential developments, commercial properties, and public sector projects.

Ensuring that project costs are kept within budget.
Preparing monthly valuations and final accounts.
Handling variations and disputes.
Monitoring project progress and submitting regular financial reports.
Managing and mentoring junior staff.

Project Management:
Liaising with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
Attending project and site meetings.
Advising on contractual and commercial risks and issues.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a Main Contractor
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Excellent negotiation, financial management, and project management skills.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS) is highly desirable.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in relevant software such as MS Office and construction management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
