We are looking for an Activities Coordinator, to become a part of the team here at White Gables Care Home, Skellingthorpe, Lincoln, LN6 5SA.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive programme of activities that ensures residents are able to participate in a variety of activities that cover many interests and provide the opportunity to take up new hobbies.
  • Encouraging each resident, in line with their wishes, to take part in dignified activities and outings, with the other residents and/or alone.
  • Keeping residents refreshed and hydrated by providing drinks throughout the day and ensuring that they are offered snacks and nourishment between meals.
  • Assisting other departments and managers as required, liaising with other members of the team to ensure that residents receive an excellent standard of care.
  • Regularly updating care plans relating to activities and wellbeing, collaborating with residents, relatives and care staff, ensuring that the residents' needs are communicated effectively.
  • Communicate any changes in the physical or mental wellbeing of the residents to care staff.
  • Promoting independence and autonomy that allows residents to feel valued for their contribution to society now and in the past, ensuring that choice is offered at all times.
  • Plan events and outings, taking into account transportation needs and any other necessary considerations.
  • Adhering to professional standards, following Company policies and procedures and the regulatory requirements provided by the care quality commissioning group.

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with elderly residents, visitors and other members of staff.
  • You will genuinely want to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.
  • Confidence to stimulate residents and encourage participation in activities.
  • A calm but outgoing personality with a passion for care.
  • Creativity and imagination are key for this role.
  • You will demonstrate genuine enthusiasm towards the role and the care sector.
  • The ability to take initiative and to have a positive, cando attitude is essential.

Job Types:
