Events Finance Business Partner within the Absolute Taste team based at our headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Purpose of the Events Finance Business Partner role


Commercial business partnering role to support the Absolute Taste Events team in understanding their financial performance, assist in driving performance and monitor and control change initiatives.

This role is also responsible for IT systems and processes; including but not limited to, EPOS and payment device technology and assisting in the deployment of a time management system.

Ensuring at all times that the Group financial policies and procedures and the PCIDSS and GPDR policies are rigorously adhered to and act as a commercial mentor to the team, while taking responsibility for the financial operation of events division, including management accounts, forecasting and budgeting.


  • Qualified accountant with at least 2/3 years commercial experience in a similar role
  • High numeric and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proven financial and commercial acumen
  • Strong, dynamic team player
  • Previous and demonstrable commercial finance experience of improving business results and adding value
  • Excel in the areas of financial performance, helping to support the Directors to deliver a profitable operation

Key Accountabilities
As Finance Business Partner, you will lead a team to support the Stadia and Event Director

You will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Identification of key commercial initiatives to drive business performance and provide financial leadership and support delivery through financial analysis
  • Provide financial and commercial insight to the Director(s) to support decision making and drive business performance
  • Be a business partner to the Director(s) assisting in setting the overall strategy and priorities for the business
  • Key part of client relationship management where appropriate, notably in financial reporting and commercial negotiations
  • Ownership of the financial results and reporting of performance including budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Identification and management of risks and opportunities in financial performance in partnership with the Director(s)
  • Management of debt (including cash collection) and ownership of balance sheet integrity including monthly balance sheet reviews with contracts
  • Ownership of financial control and governance processes including contractual compliance and adherence to Group financial policies. Liaison with the client's auditors will also be required at their financial year end
  • Implement Group Finance protocols to ensure that a highlevel compliance is adhered to
  • To ensure the smooth running of events cash office functionality
  • To oversee the recruitment (where required), training and ongoing management of the finance teams, including but not limited to:
  • The cash office team
  • The stock taking team
  • Ownership of Profit Protection processes, audits and compliance
  • To have a working knowledge of GDPR legislation and to work to ensure that the legislation is being adhered to
  • Ensure commercial proposals are appropriately reflecting risk and communicating key risks and opportunities to Sector MD/FD through approvals process
  • Responsible for IT systems, including but not limited to the EPOS
  • A revenue management system
