Key Responsibilities:

Leadership in Business Intelligence: Serve as the Site lead for Business Intelligence and Information Management, ensuring the provision of accurate, timely, and insightful information to support clinical care, business planning, and performance management.
- Data Analysis and Insight Generation: Utilise expert knowledge of healthcare data and systems to bridge the gap between operational needs and raw data, transforming it into valuable, actionable insights.
- Performance Management: Develop and maintain a performance management focus across all services, aligning with national and local Performance Indicators including the 18-week RTT target, A&E 4-hour target, Cancer Waiting Times, and other key metrics.
- Operational and Financial Objectives: Support the Site in achieving its operational and financial goals, including income recovery and Cost Improvement Programs (CIP), by providing thorough analysis and strategic guidance.
- Benchmarking and Best Practices: Drive the Trust towards top-tier performance through comparative analysis and the adoption of best practices both nationally and internationally.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Site Informatics is the Site lead in relation to Business Intelligence and Information Management, ensuring that accurate and timely information, analysis, and interpretation is available to support the successful running of the Site by supporting clinical care, business planning and performance management.

Using their expert skill and knowledge of healthcare data and systems, they will bridge the divide between the operational management teams' need for intelligence and the vast array of data that when processed and analysed appropriately becomes valuable, relevant insight.
The post holder will be expected to have a thorough understanding of national and local Performance Indicators including the 18 week RTT target, the A&E 4 hour target, the Cancer Waiting Times targets, and all other national and local targets the Trust is required to adhere
to.

The role will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the Site through achieving its operational, financial (including income recovery, CIP etc) and strategic objectives. The post holder will ensure the development of a performance management focus across all services provided within the Site; and ensure the Trust is working towards top peer performance
through comparative analysis and a thorough understanding of best practice both nationally and internationally.

The post holder will be expected to work on-site minimum 2 days a week.

Working for our organisation

We provide care for the residents of three diverse London boroughs. Most of our 7,800 permanent staff live in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. We also provide healthcare services to people in south west Essex, and specialist neurosciences services to the whole of the county.

Our services include all the major specialties of large acute hospitals and we operate from two main sites - King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023. We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Community Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic.

We're pleased to be leading the way in wait to get the treatment they need. The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be ; the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings for at Queen's and King George hospitals; and showed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also part of the .

Essential criteria

Degree qualified ideally in healthcare informatics, numerical, scientific or health related subject or significant experience in a similar role. Master's degree or ability to function and practice at masters level. Advanced IT/Microsoft office skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint and applications used to support project and business management.

Skills/ Abilities

Essential criteria

Ability to analyse complex information and develop potential options and / or recommendations on the most appropriate course of action. Ability to operate at senior management level.

Experience / Knowledge
