About the Role


Raising the customers style perception and category awareness of M&S, via confident mannequin dressing, delivery to a set of clear presentation principles, and relevance to customer mindset.

Enabling seasonal styling guidance for stores which aligns to campaigns and illustrates the very best of M&S, though commercial and creative solutions

  • Works as part of the Instore VM team to articulate the key seasonal product focuses and graded variances, enabling a strategic and consistent brand look and feel
  • Delivering best in class standard of mannequin dressing to give a high standard of guidance
  • Takes design direction from the BU and delivers in store styling in line with the relevant product messages
  • Works closely with the BU to stay on top of product knowledge and the latest information on grading / phasing
  • Keeps a visual library of looks for the seasons ahead, to support where additional/alternative solutions are required
  • Is responsible for ensuring the products selected are appropriate for timing / grading
  • Informs the windows team on the planned mannequin solutions to support scheme planning / phasing
  • Delivers a clear and focused approach to single and multiple categories across BUs, alongside a clear approach to seasonal amplification and campaign alignment
  • Provide the seasonal lay down documents for all instore mannequin propositions which work to deliver the outputs of (but not excusive to) windows, first bites, in department configurations, high level displays
  • Delivers thorough styling direction and principles to the VM Communications team, enabling delivery of consistent and clear guidance
  • Always champions our customer, by relating everything back to the customer and how it engages / inspires / enables ease of shop.
  • Be the instore styling expert within the team, showcasing problem solving capabilities and a strong product awareness
  • Ensure awareness of key market trends and competitor analysis

About You

  • Proven experience as a Stylist (retail focused)
  • Multiple clothing BU experience
  • Hight standard of practical styling skills hands on approach
  • Good level of creativity and ability to use initiative
  • Good communication skills written and verbal
  • Influencing skills and a positive approach to challenge
  • Key stakeholder management
  • Commercially aware
