Level Two Teaching Assistant- Pupil referral unitAre you a level two Teaching assistants that specialises in behaviour and want to build a career working in a pupil referral unit setting in the Leeds area?A pupil referral unit specialising in social, Emotional & Mental Health in students age range between Key Stage 2 up to Key stage 4 provide stability, education and empowerment while also taking into account, the learners individualised, differentiated learning styles. This is to ensure each Learner is integrated socially, emotionally and educationally.The initial assignment in this post will be to see how well you fit into the setting, which means you need to be fully committed and enthusiastic about making a difference in children's lives and be willing to delve into using your own initiative to be able to stand out. If the setting you are place in see your potential, they will take you on permanent and will provide you with a clear career progression plan.If you would like further information, please call me on (phone number removed) or email me atJob Description: As a Teaching assistant specialising in behaviour, you will operate within agreed professional ethical and school policies when working with pupils and those involved with them.Encourage and support staff in a positive regard and use the restraint training method when presented with difficult escalating behaviours.Supporting pupils overcome their crisis and support them to deal with the consequences.Assist integration for the child into the rest of the class/group.Maintain good working relationships with the other members of staff.Empower pupils and encourage positive regulation of social and emotional skills.To support the child focus in class and keep them on task to complete work that is set.Develop positive and trusting relationships with the pupils.Listen to the child and offer appropriate support if necessary.Provide information for behavioural records and report back as required.Job Specification: Must have at least 6 months solid experience working in a pupil referral unit, alternative provision or similar setting.Level two or above Teaching assistant qualification or equivalent.Must be proactive in your approachFlexible in temporary work patternsTeam Teach trained desirable, however training provided.Competitive daily rate £90-£100.Enhanced DBS subscribed to update service- or willing to apply for one.
