Irwin and Colton is working with a top logistics provider to hire a Head of Health, Safety, and Environment. In this position, you will lead a national team across various locations to ensure successful implementation of the Health and Safety strategy. The ideal candidate should be a creative thinker, innovative, and capable of driving continuous improvement to maintain the highest safety standards.
The Head of Health, Safety, and Environment will also report to the Chief People Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Review the health and safety strategy to ensure it meets industry best practices
- Lead a national team to implement health and safety policies and procedures
- Stay informed about legislative changes and ensure compliance
- Engage with senior management and external stakeholders to clarify responsibilities and address safety inquiries
- Develop and enhance the health and safety management system following industry standards
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar role within logistics, warehousing, or regulatory environments
- NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ 5 or equivalent, along with relevant IOSH membership
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
- Understanding of Facility, Security, and Environment management (preferred)
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of safety professionals at a prominent UK logistics company, reporting directly to the board. A valid UK driver's license is required.
