To promote good working relationships and a positive team climate.

To be locally responsible for the management and coordination of the Trauma Orthopaedic therapy services at ASPH in line with Trust and local policies and procedures.


To ensure therapy staff within teams have appropriate supervision and support for their clinical practice and CPD through team meetings, in service training, 1:1s, yearly appraisal and other training and development.

In collaboration with clinical specialists to plan, coordinate and implement programmes of training and development for teams. To be responsible for the management of the therapy services in Trauma Orthopaedics.

This will include supporting the Therapy Manager for OT & PT in managing change, monitoring staffing levels, and implementation of therapy and trust standards of practice.


To coordinate the delivery of the clinical service across Trauma Orthopaedics and flexibly manage responsibilities for own caseload, service delivery and other commitments e.g.

training, supervision, managerial. To generate appropriate operational, coordinated strategies for caseload and workload management for staff within speciality. To ensure the smooth running of the service responding to unforeseen circumstances, unpredictable workloads and staff shortages.


To ensure that the referral pathways across the service are cohesive and provide an interface for the smooth transition between services.

Alongside the Therapy Manager for OT & PT develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement and change.

To be a specialist clinical resource for other members of staff such as medical and nursing staff, trust managers and other colleagues who work in different specialities.

To provide comprehensive, expert assessment and diagnosis for patients, utilising expert clinical reasoning, evidence based knowledge, investigative and analytical skills and specialist assessment.
