Job Title:
Welfare Officer


Overview:

As a Welfare Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of all occupants (Service Users - SUs) within the facility.

Your responsibilities will encompass managing welfare checks, addressing inquiries related to education, healthcare appointments, and offering support regarding issues with documentation.

Additionally, you'll collaborate with relevant departments to organize transportation for medical appointments and provide general assistance pertaining to the hotel's operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Welfare Checks: Conduct comprehensive welfare checks for all individuals within the premises systematically, adhering to the monthly schedule and floor-by-floor approach.

Data Compilation: Compile and send the "liver register" each morning to Sue, containing comprehensive information about SUs as per the provided template.

Task Prioritization: Determine the daily welfare checks to be completed, ensuring a balanced workload, with an approximate aim of 10 checks per day.

Support Services: Offer guidance and assistance to SUs regarding school-related inquiries, GP appointments, and issues pertaining to documents or the Home Office.

Advisory Role: Refrain from providing advice related to Home Office matters but assist with all other hotel-related queries and concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to empathize and support individuals facing diverse challenges.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational capabilities to manage welfare checks systematically and efficiently.

Communication Proficiency: Excellent communication skills to liaise with SUs, colleagues, and external agencies effectively.

Adaptability: Capacity to work within a dynamic environment and respond promptly to changing priorities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a customer facing MANAGEMENT role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple external agencies
  • Ability to multitask
  • Deal with difficult situations and always maintain a professional approach
  • Available to work for 6 days a week 8.5 hour shifts
  • Must be IT literate word, excel, outlook etc
  • Immediate Starts

Desirable Requirements:

  • Current Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Right to work in the UK
