DCH is part of the Dorset Cancer Network providing services for patients with breast, Colo-Rectal, urological, gastrointestinal, lung, head & neck, skin, endocrine and haematological malignancies.
This post is within the Department of Histopathology at DCH for an individual with full GMC registration including entry on the Specialty Register or be within 6 month of specialist entry.
The post is intended to be a 10PA contract, the appointees may be offered one extra PA due to the clinical workload.
This includes 2 SPAs within the 10 PA contract.The appointee will be expected to participate in clinical audit, CPD, QA and proficiency EQA related to special interests.
Histopathology at DCHFT has a pivotal role for the management of cancer and is a key component of the Trust.
The Trust has a commitment to support Histopathology and provide the basis for the natural expansion of Histopathology into more modern roles.
The laboratory is fully UKAS accredited to ISO:15189.The Pathology department is part of the One Dorset Pathology (ODP) that includes the two hospitals at Poole and Bournemouth (UHD; University Hospital Dorset).
The three hospitals are linked by one Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and are in the final stages of implementing Digital Pathology for histopathology reportingThe expected interview date will take place on 24th April 2023.
