Engagement Officer

The Museum of Cambridge is looking for an Engagement Officer to bring a year of fantastic programmes and activities to the Museum.

Continuing our ever-popular Museum on a Bike programme (MoaB) as well as our early year stay and play sessions, this role will bring the history of Cambridge to life for visitors across the city and in the Museum.

The Engagement Officer is part of the Engagement team, reporting to the Engagement and Collections Manager.

This role is funded by the Cambridge City Council Community Grant as well as by public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

This role will take the history of Cambridge to the people of Cambridge.

Through fun, onsite activities and workshops the Engagement Officer offers engaging and accessible activities, crafts and workshops for all types of audiences.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver workshops, crafts and activities themed around the Museum's themes, objects and local stories.
  • Manage a delegated project budget.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support programming and activities at the Museum.
  • Write and share marketing material to publicise activities and reach Museum audiences.
  • Manage the health and safety and safeguarding of onsite and offsite activities.
