Introduction

The Parliamentary Security Department (PSD) is responsible for ensuring the security of both Houses of Parliament and supporting Members even outside the Estate to maintain a safe and active parliamentary environment.

The Deputy Director of Personnel Security will oversee insider threat management and related strategies, handling Insider Risk, Vetting, Cyber policy, and security culture and engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading a team of around 50 personnel in Personnel Security, promoting professionalism, inclusivity, and effectiveness.Acting on behalf of the Security Director for Parliament on personnel security matters.Owning the implementation and achievement of PSD Strategic Objectives concerning personnel security, such as Insider Threat strategy and understanding espionage risks to Parliament from cyber and other sources.Cultivating relationships with the National Security Community and formulating responses to counter threats effectively.

The ideal candidate will showcase:

A proven track record in team leadership, customer-centric service delivery, policy formulation, and fostering diversity and inclusivity.Expertise in national security matters gained from collaborating with governmental security entities and familiarity with personnel security protocols.Experience in driving organizational change at a strategic level, guiding teams through transformative phases and fostering positive developments.Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, the ability to influence, and a talent for building trustful relationships to achieve collective goals.The capability to establish credibility swiftly, create collaborative partnerships, and engage effectively with various stakeholders.
