JOB DESCRIPTION:

KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Overview:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be assisting in the preparation and delivery of high quality food and beverages whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment suitable for its production alongside our Executive Chef.


You will be serving lunch & will work with other team members to ensure the overall lunch experience is consistently delivered to all residents.

Job specifications

  • Carry out duties within the kitchen area in accordance with the work schedule
  • Responsible for food preparation as instructed by the Executive Chef
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen area including all equipment and appliances
  • Serving lunch to our residents & clearing tables and the entire Restaurant area.
  • Implementing the principles of safe food handling to ensure food preparation is undertaken to the highest possible standards of hygiene
  • Practicing safe systems of work across a range of tasks
  • Working closely with the Executive Chef and other Kitchen Assistant/s to deliver a high standard of work and ensuring all Safety at Work legislation is adhered to
  • To ensure you are able to cover the kitchen and all responsibility involved in the Executive Chef's absence
  • To ensure your tasks are redesignated when you are on annual leave or to take responsibility to remind the Executive Chef in the first instance or the Estate Manger as a second resort of your tasks if on sickness absence
  • To cover the emergency handset if required by the business on an adhoc basis
  • Any other adhoc duties as may be reasonably associated with this role.

Personal & Kitchen hygiene & cleanliness:

  • Vital importance must be placed upon personal hygiene and
- kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.

  • Our Kitchen Assistant must be in a clean and presentable state at all times and their kitchen must always be kept to the highest standard prepared for a visit from Environmental Health at any time.

  • You must be pleasant, courteous and caring, as it is important for us to couple great care with meaningful and enjoyable experiences for our residents.
