About the Role:
At Next, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our catering team as a Kitchen Porter. This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11am to 3pm.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all deliveries arrive in acceptable condition and at the correct temperature.
- Put away deliveries on arrival and store them correctly, complying with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety within the kitchen and restaurant areas.
- Ensure all deliveries are put away in stock rotation safely without risk to others and efficiently.
- Wash all pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to a high standard.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwash room, dishwashers, and keep them sanitized and free from harmful bacteria.
- Empty rubbish bins and remove any other waste at regular intervals to keep floors clear of possible hazards.
- Ensure the cleaning schedule is completed daily.
- Complete daily laundry and replenish clean cloths as needed.
- Report any breakages of equipment as they occur.
- Comply with quality and safety standards at all times.
- Ensure that all windows and doors are locked at the end of each shift and return keys to security.

- You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
- You will be a problem solver.
- You will be able to take initiative and make suggestions.
- You will be able to prioritize your own work to ensure deadlines are met.
