The Forensic Liaison and Diversion (L&D) services aim to provide early intervention for vulnerable people of all ages as they come to the attention of the criminal justice system.

L&D services provide a prompt response to concerns raised by the police, probation service, youth offending teams or court staff, and provide critical information to decision-makers in the justice system, in real time, when it comes to charging and sentencing these vulnerable people.

L&D also acts as a point of referral and assertive follow up for these services users, to ensure they can access, and are supported to attend, treatment and rehabilitation appointments.


In this way, L&D services are expected to help reduce reoffending, reduce unnecessary use of police and court time, ensure that health matters are dealt with by healthcare professionals, and reduce health inequalities for some of the most vulnerable in society.

You will alongside an MDT including Nurses, Doctors, Commissioners, Police, probation, court staff and various professions across L&D services pan London.


You will be supporting L&D in recording data and lead on the maintaining of complex data sets on service users who are screened and assessed.

This will also include training new staff on the electronic healthcare record used called SystmOne and updating team members on any changes to the data set.

A key part of this role will be the responsibility for the production and quality control of all data and quality performance reports for the L&D service.

This includes analysing and giving advice on trends within the reports to NHS England and when attending regular Data Managers meetings.


The post holder will be expected to be up to date with all mandatory training in relation to Trust policy and have current professional registration and knowledge as required by the NMC Code of Conduct.

  • To support L&D in recording data and to lead on the maintaining of complex data sets on service users who are screened and assessed.

  • To provide and maintain high quality monthly data submissions to NHS England and to perform regular audits, data quality checks and cleansing, and query any discrepancies or issues directly with the L&D Practitioners. This will also include making enquiries to internal and external agencies to establish clinical outcomes where a referral to secondary or specialist services has been made.
  • To be responsible for the production and quality control of all data and quality performance reports for the L&D service. This includes analysing and giving advice on trends within the reports to NHS England and when attending regular Data Managers meeting.
  • To provide high quality and efficient administrative support to the L&D service. This includes organising, attending and minute taking for a variety of meetings internally, with NHS England and other partners and stakeholders. Support with IT requests and other ad hoc administrative duties and support.
