Cre8 Project Grow - Grocery Lead - Part time (15 hours)

£24,636 per annum (full time equivalent salary)

Role Purpose**This is an exciting opportunity to work with Cre8 on our community-led Project Grow funded by the National Lottery.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to help us manage and evaluate our successful Surplus Food Grocery.

The individual will be a strategic thinker with proven problem-solving skills. The person will be passionate about the cause, a good communicator with excellent inter-personal skills.


We want a fresh pair of eyes to be our critical friend and evaluate where the project is up to, how it can stand up on its own going forward.

The role with involving evaluating all aspects of this complex and dynamic project, providing recommendations for the future post 2024 funding.

This person will manage our diverse group of highly committed, vibrant and motivated volunteers.


For the right person, this role is a great opportunity to lead the transfer of this project to full sustainability from Spring 2024.

The role is for 15 hours per week. Working days will ideally be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, although there may be some flexibility across those days. Holidays are pro-rata based on full time allowance of 30 days a year inclusive of all bank/public holidays.

Role Responsibilities**- Oversee the activities within the project(s) to agreed budgets, timescales and outputs including supporting project/sessions leaders to run those activities.

  • Actively contributing to ongoing, interim and final project evaluation against outputs and outcomes for the project(s).
  • Leading teams of staff and volunteers to deliver projects to agreed outputs.
  • Safeguarding: Leading on the implementation of the Cre8 Safeguarding Policy and ensuring high standards of practice are maintained throughout delivery.
  • Health & Safety: Managing Health and safety within the working environment, managing risk, developing risk assessments, administering first aid when required and key holding.
  • The effective use of resources: Making sure that resources in terms of time, materials and equipment is always used for the benefit of young people. Purchasing as necessary, and within financial procedures.
  • Welcoming: Making sure that Cre8 is a welcoming place for young people and for anybody who visits the organisation.
  • Training: Take and provide opportunities for training and development where required.
  • Team meetings: Attending and contributing to team meetings, including making sure you are adequately prepared for meetings.
  • Discipline: Taking part in disciplinary and restorative justice meetings and procedures when asked to do so.
  • Equality and Diversity: Promoting equality and diversity and making sure Cre8 is an inclusive and supportive place to be.
