Summary.


We are seeking a Technical Author to join our expanding Technical Publications team who are responsible for delivering documentation and content for our Products and Services on our Customer Portal.

This role is an opportunity for the right individual to gain more experience working within a technology-driven industry. Some technical skills are required, but training on soft skills and required software will be given.

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Produce clear, concise and easytounderstand digital content
  • Ensure all content conforms to the company style
  • Liaise with internal teams to gather information to then product documentation
  • Engaging with stakeholders in the business to understand the requirements or gaps with current documentation
  • Taking customer feedback to improve documentation and the enduser experience
  • Editing and proofreading documentation created by others before publishing
  • Review existing articles and guides to ensure they are still accurate

Knowledge and Experience.

Essential:

  • 35 years working as a Technical Author or related role
  • Degree in language or technical related discipline
  • Excellent comprehension, verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Experience of working in a Development and/or Product team
  • Software authoring tool experience

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working as part of an international team
  • Knowledge of HTML / CSS
  • Azure DevOps experience
  • Microsoft Azure experience
  • Working experience of the Agile framework

Skills.

  • Take technical topics and present them in a simple and accessible way
  • Effectively use a varied range of digital resources including written articles, videos and infographics
  • Act upon feedback and action in a positive way
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, including at developer, functional consultant, IT infrastructure, enduser and process owner levels
  • Work within a team to achieve goals
  • Organised and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously with changing priorities
  • Absorb information quickly
  • Work in a professional and confident manner
  • Plan and effectively prioritise own workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Work independently and to meet deadlines, as well as work as part of a team
