Estate Worker

Meldon Estate is a private rural estate 5 miles West of Morpeth where we run a developing firewood business which works alongside a mixture of other traditional rural enterprises.

The position has become available due to a member of staff leaving. Ideally an immediate start is preferred. This is a permanent full-time role offering 39 hours plus over time.


A good knowledge of the surrounding area would also be an advantage when helping with log deliveries plus a clean driving licence.


This role could include a wide range of duties with plenty of variety although it is key, we have someone who is confident delivering logs with either a 3.5 tonne vehicle or 4wd and trailer, in addition experience of driving a telehandler and tractor would be beneficial whilst also experience of working a chainsaw.

Pay will be in line with experience.

Duties will include.

  • Log deliveries 3.5 tonne and trailer deliveries
  • Log processing
  • Chain saw and brush cutting.
  • Basic tractor and telehandler work.
It would be beneficial but not essential if the applicant has experience of

  • Chain saw and relevant certificate
  • Good knowledge of the North East for delivery purposes
  • Telehandler and relevant certificate
  • Tractor driving
  • Quad driving
The position offers a 39 hour week Monday to Friday with an early finish on a Friday. Rate of pay is £ £12.00 per hour. All usual statutory holidays and pension are offered. Training will be available for the right applicant where necessary.

NB interviews will be held week commencing 24th June 2024.
