**About me**

My name is Michael, I am a disabled man with a learning disability. I am looking for a dependable and friendly Support Worker to join my fun loving team The job is to assist me in all aspects of my life including mobility, personal care, social life, cooking, shopping, work, transport and organising my time. I have impairments which impact my balance, vision and cognition. I live in my own self contained flat within my family home about 4 miles south of Morpeth. I live in a small estate, supported by buses but my Support Workers drive me everywhere and I am busy so you will need to drive me.

I am always on the lookout for new things to try and this involves getting out in my mobility vehicle. I like a mix of things to do. I have a dog walking business and am an Expert by Experience conducting interviews and speaking at conferences on what the social and medical model of disability is. In my spare time I go to the gym, festivals, radio club and research what my next vehicle should be.

**About you**

Previous experience is not required, as training will be provided but you need to show patience. People with previous experience should approach this role with open minds and be ready to listen and learn. You will need:

- to have excellent communication skills
- to be physically able to support me
- to hold a full clean driving licence so you can drive me around in my vehicle
- ability to commute to and from work

**DBS checks, references and training**

Please note that any offer will be conditional on the following:

- A successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
- Evidence of Right to work in the UK
- Evidence of a Full, Clean Driving Licence
- Two satisfactory references
- Mandatory training during onboarding and probation period (including job shadowing)

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with my daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Support me to carry out my chosen social and work activities by driving me in my vehicle
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation

Day shift 09.00-17-00

Evening shift 16.50-22.30
