School Caretaker Required for Large Primary School in Stevenage - Immediate start - £23,500 per annum (£97.91 per day) - Temporary to Permanent post.


We are seeking an experienced and reliable School Caretaker to join our team at a busy and thriving primary school in Stevenage.

With over 500 children on role and a large premises, the incoming caretaker can expect to be kept busy with a wide range of duties.


As the School Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the school premises are maintained to a high standard and kept safe and secure.


Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Opening and closing the school buildings daily
  • Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance work
  • Undertaking cleaning duties as required
  • Setting up rooms and equipment for events and activities
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Supervising and managing external contractors as needed


To be successful in this role, you will have a high level of basic building skills and be able to demonstrate experience of working in a similar caretaker or facilities management role.

You will have good communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solvingand the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
