  • If you're part of the Environment Agency (EA), you're part of the solution. Working with us means protecting and improving the environment and addressing issues of national importance. We're based across England, and our responsibilities span industry regulation, flood defences, land contamination, water quality, fisheries, and conservation.
It's highly varied, challenging work that plays a key role in creating a cleaner, greener, safer environment. You'll develop relationships with a range of partners and support key functions including flooding and environmental response.

  • The teamYou will work within a team of friendly and capable Permitting Officers at one of our national offices with the option to work flexibly.
You will work in one of our permitting regimes: Waste, Water Quality or Water Resources or Mobile Plant.

  • Experience/skills required Make and justify informed, timely decisions based on scrutiny of complex technical data.
  • Coach and support others through technical challenges.
  • Manage your own time and workload and meet performance targets related to you and your team.
  • Communicate effectively and build sound relationships with your customers.
