What can you expect?

, we have an opening for an
Out of Hours Controller within our Contact Centre based in our
Lincoln Head Quarters. Within this role, you would join the Control team and play an important part in ensuring you efficiently and effectively influence our Patient Transport Service resources in order to ensure that the requirements of the booked patient journey are met.


As an
Out of Hours Controller, you will ensure that decisions made out of hours are operationally and clinically appropriate, safeguard the patients and crews and are delivered within HTGs and the CQCs quality, performance, and governance frameworks.

You will also need to be familiar with and adhere to Service plans, policies, procedures, and Key Performance Indictors (KPI's).


Working hours:
Full Time - 4 on, 4 off hours per week) working on a rota basis of 12 hour shifts 7pm-7am.

Salary:
£23,613.33 per annum


Key responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the efficient utilisation of HTG PTS resources through agreed area of responsibility by planning the pre booked and short notice transport requests.
  • To effectively prepare the system ready for the plan to be run, e.g. vehicle down time.
  • To negotiate with health care professionals regarding patient appointment time and coordinate resource availability against demand.
  • To liaise with the operations team if service delivery is to be compromised through lack of resources or sickness.
  • To work effectively and cooperatively within a team environment and assist the dispatchers where necessary.
  • Allocate and assign physical resources (manpower and vehicles) using the Patient Transport system.
  • To allocate suitable journeys to the Voluntary Ambulance Car Service.
  • To ensure that customers and patients are contacted regarding their transport requirements, advising of any inability to meet these requirements and advise of any other options as soon as it is apparent that any genuine commitments cannot be met.
