Acting as our Fundraising Coordinator you will ensure that the vision for the Charity and our work with carers is reflected in all its programmes and services.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in fundraising, preferably within the charity sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funds through diverse channels, including grants, major gifts, events, and partnerships.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives that resonate with potential donors and funders.
  • Strong relationshipbuilding and networking abilities, with a genuine empathy for the challenges faced by unpaid carers.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft word, excel and other database systems to manage donor databases and generate reports.
  • Knowledge of relevant fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and best practices within the UK charity sector.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, such as marketing, finance, and carer support staff, to align fundraising efforts with the organisation's overall goals and objectives.

Desirable Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications).
  • Familiarity with the West Sussex community and an understanding of local issues related to unpaid family carers.

KEY DUTIES

  • You will work closely with the management team to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies tailored to the needs of unpaid carers in West Sussex. Identify funding opportunities, set ambitious targets, and develop innovative approaches to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Collect, organise, and analyse extensive information and statistical data to create compelling arguments for securing significant financial resources to back our ambition to develop new projects to better identify, value and support carers.
  • Assist in the generation of fresh avenues of revenue and skillfully oversee current relationships and programs, such as community fundraising initiatives.
  • Help produce insightful, highquality research on current and prospective donors from trusted sources and build a list of potential funders and their priorities.
